“The sums of refund to tourists will reach five to fifteen thousand rubles, depending on the tour, - said Mikhail Mishustin. – This money will be used to partially cover the expenses of people who choose to go on vacation to the Russian regionsby the end of this year; the list of regions has already been compiled by the Federal Tourism Agency” (quoted in TASS).
A total of 15 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for this purpose.
Prime Minister emphasized that the tourism industry has faced severe problems “and it is necessary not only to support it, but also to set the stage for dynamic development, including opening up fresh opportunities for domestic tourism”. According to Mikhail Mishustin, subsidies amounting to about 3.5 billion rubles have already been provided to tour operators.
