On Monday, December 9, 2019, the Travel Club "Tour to Dagestan", one of the leading tour operators in Dagestan, made a presentation of the tourist potential of the southern Republic.

The presentation of the travel Club "Tour to Dagestan", organized within the framework of the exchange of cultural ties between St. Petersburg and the Republic of Dagestan, was held at the site of the St. Petersburg state budgetary institution "City tourist information Bureau". The purpose of the event was the further interaction of the regions in the development of tourist ties.

Svetlana Yurieva, Deputy Director of GTIB, welcomed the guests from the city on the Neva river and the tourist information Bureau. "Such meetings are very necessary in the tourism industry, because it is here that we find contacts, establish partnerships," Yurieva opened the event.

Noting Dagestan as an interesting destination for tour operators from all over Russia, she gave the floor to the head of the Travel Club "Tour to Dagestan" Murtazali Magomedov. According to him, in recent years, the popularity of Dagestan as a tourist destination shows a steady and stable growth. For example, not so long ago, the Republic received groups of tourists from Israel. Every year the mountain region is visited by about 700 thousand guests.

Travelers are attracted by picturesque Caucasian landscapes, beaches of the Caspian sea, and rich culture. Also of interest to tourists are ethnographic and gastronomic tours.

It should be noted that this autumn, from 16 to 19 October, the Republic of Dagestan hosted the II international tourism forum Open Dagestan 2019, which was attended by the St. Petersburg tourist information Bureau. The forum was a platform for the exchange of experience of specialists from the regions of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries.

In July 2015, SPb GBU "City tourist information Bureau" signed an agreement on information cooperation with the Information and tourist center "Dagestan". And in 2019, at the MITT tourism exhibition, the institution signed a cooperation agreement with the Tourist information center "Derbent 2000".
