The opera song for the opening the Palace Bridge will be chosen by voting

The Committee for culture of Saint Petersburg offered everyone to choose a song for the opening of the Palace Bridge. The event will take place on August 8 as a part of the “Opera for All” festival.

"Before August 6, take part in an open voting and mark your favorite song in the poll under this entry. The aria with the highest number of votes will be performed on August 8 at the time of the Palace bridge opening ", - the Committee's page in the social network “Vkontakte” reports.

You can choose between the following pieces:

  • Verdi. The Duke's song from the opera «Rigoletto»
  • Tchaikovsky. Lensky's Aria from the opera «Eugeniy Onegin»
  • Bizet. Habanera from the opera «Carmen»
  • Borodin. Prince Igor’s Aria from the opera «Prince Igor»
  • Puccini. Mimi's Aria from the opera «Boheme»
  • Puccini. Prince Calaf’s Aria from the opera «Turandot»
  • Rimsky-Korsakov. Aria of the Princess-Swan from the opera «The Tale of Tsar Saltan»
  • Tchaikovsky. Herman's Aria from the opera «Queen of spades»
  • Rachmaninoff. Aleko’s Cavatina from the opera «Aleko»

The list of world-famous opera songs was compiled by Fabio Mastrangelo, artistic director of the Music Hall theater and music director of the “Opera for All” festival. All arias are collected in a playlistand available for listening.

The international festival "Opera for all" will be held in Saint Petersburg from August 8 to 22. This large-scale project will present opera masterpieces in the unique architectural ensembles of the Northern capital for the ninth time.
