On October 30, an online tour of The Historical “Poltava” ship will take place

On the Foundation Day of the Russian Navy, the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg will broadcast an excursion on the "Poltava" ship. Spectators will walk along the decks with the captain and see part of the museum exhibition. The unique event will be held with the support of the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg.

On the ship "Poltava", work continues on the reconstruction of the museum exposition, which tells about the life of the sailors of the Peter the Great era. Hundreds of unique exhibits have been recreated by the efforts of leading historians and craftsmen. Now the exhibition is 70% ready, in the future it will be filled with augmented reality technologies.

The ship has already become one of the main marine attractions of St. Petersburg. Petersburgers and guests of the city have been watching the recreation of Poltava since 2014, when the ship was still under construction. Tens of thousands of visitors have already visited the excursion both before and after the launching. The ship took part in the "Museum night" city action 4 times and became one of the most popular locations. Twice the ship led the formation of ships in the center of St. Petersburg at the parade in honor of the Day of the Navy.

The excursion will be led by the captain of the ship Maxim Korshunov. He will tell you about the history of the reconstruction, take you through all the premises of the sailing ship and show part of the exhibition. The duration of the video tour is 24 minutes. The broadcast will take place on the official YouTube channel of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club on October 30 at 21.00. After the completion of all construction works "Poltava" will become a part of the cultural and historical center.
