SPb— Saimaa Tourist Corridor’ project discussed in Helsinki

At the Matka Travel Fair 2020 exhibition held in Helsinki, representatives of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and the border cities of Finland discussed the development of the 'St. Petersburg  Saimaa Tourist Corridor’ project.

Experts discussed the interaction plan for the next two years and noted the first results of the joint project.

‘St. Petersburg  Saimaa Tourist Corridor’ is a joint project of St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and the border cities of Finland that form the Lake Saimaa: Savonlinna, Imatra, Lappeenranta and Mikkeli. The cooperation in tourism was made to attract international tourists from China, South Korea and Central Europe. The project aims to raise awareness and develop contacts with tour operators to increase high-value incoming tourism outside the main tourism season.

Currently, the official website of the project, travelcorridor.info, has been launched in English. Versions in Russian, Finnish, German and Chinese will be available in the future.
