CTIB Pavilions are Ready to Receive Tourists

30.07.2020

Information pavilions of the City Tourist Information Bureau have reopened in Saint Petersburg on July 27.

The city on the Neva is gradually emerging from the regime of restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, travel companies started working on Monday; guides were allowed to conduct excursions. And in order to make the stay in city comfortable and safe for the guests, the pavilions of the City Tourist Information Bureau (CTIB) are also resuming their activities.

All conditions for safe consultations have been created for tourists in the CTIB pavilions; we take part in the program Petersburg hospitality SafeTravelsSPB”. All our offices have received a single sign of safe and comfortable travel - Safe Travels SPB and QR codes, confirming the implementation of the recommendations and standards of Rospotrebnadzor” says Nadezhda Petrova, CTIB Acting Director General.

Safe Travels is the international travel program of the World Travel & Tourism Council, WTTC, designed to support safe tourism. Petersburg was the first city in Russia to join the initiative. Within the framework of the program, the city has a single sign for the hospitality industry Safe Travels SPb.

According to Sergey Korneev, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, the accession of CTIB information offices and pavilions to the #SafeTravels program is significant for the industry, since “the main task now is not only to get tourism out of the regime of restrictions, but also to maintain a high level of quality of services provided in conditions of changes in the epidemiological situation".

“The city should again become a popular holiday destination, and we understand that safety is the most important thing. The resumption of the work of the centers of the City Tourist Information Bureau contributes to the achievement of this task and shows that St. Petersburg is open for travelers" says Sergei Korneev.

The tourists can already visit 7 offices and pavilions in the center of Saint Petersburg. During the first two days of work, more than 120 people have already applied for advice. From August 1, the information desk at Pulkovo airport will resume its work. The information center in the passenger port "Marine Facade" will remain closed.

You can find out about the working hours of the offices and pavilions of the CTIB on the organization’s official website ispb.info. CTIB employees are always ready to answer questions about city events, routes, excursions, transport, museums, as well as advise tourists in case of emergency in Russian, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Serbian and Chinese languages.

In 2019, more than 200 thousand Russian and foreign tourists applied to the offices and pavilions. During the recent restrictions, the City Tourist Information Office was working online. Information support was provided by phone, e-mail, Skype and social networks of the institution, as well as through the jivosite online chat on the visit-petersburg.ru portal. From the end of March to July 26, over 700 people received online support.
