Music of different epochs contained numerous symbols, codes, combinations. This was known only to initiates. A swift movement towards technically innovative 21st century left behind keys from the arts, preserved in the knowledge trunk. Hospitality of Rimsky-Korsakov museum-apartment will help to open history of arts pages slightly, as the owner of this house was always interested in the universe mysteries.

 

The winter festival is about organ secrets of Europe, sound baroque labyrinth, junk shop and lute enchanting melodies. What do the manuscripts which one can hardly transcribe contain? How we can become a part of this world, to go to this fascinating 15th — 17th century trip? In this deal it is important to follow the master of an instrument and never veer off this course. Only full immersion can help us to learn the world full of secrets and discoveries.

 

Musicians can often be compared to the gold diggers. Search of gold, as search of manuscripts, its identification and interpretation is a very laborious process, lasting months, years, decades. And all discoveries made by researchers, musicians worth its weight in gold.

 

Specialists in this field — soloists and ensembles will share gold musical nuggets with an audience. Among them there will be a very famous ensemble of medieval music “Laterna Magica”. During the festival all guests will enjoy sound of very rare instruments such as mandolin, lute, baroque guitar, fidel, psalterium, tar, roman harp and hurdy gurdy. Organ and harpsichord will fill a cozy concert hall with the magic melodies, and music historians will share interesting and unknown stories about early music with audience.
